The ACCORD-Stinger Container chassis, whether new or used, can enhance handling efficiency significantly. Compared to existing chassis, the ACCORD skeletal trailer boasts 50% greater productivity (equivalent to three TEUs) and can also utilize the “Swinglift” self-loading and unloading features. Research conducted in Australia indicates that up to seven (7) skeletal trailers can be serviced per day outside of the port using this system. This enhanced flexibility at the Port leads to improved turn-around times, ultimately resulting in increased TEU clearance and a higher return on investment (ROI).

The Stinger Semi-trailer container chassis features a turntable/5th wheel stinger positioned behind the tractor and on the drom. This trailer variant can transport (3) TEU’s, providing a 50% increase in capacity. Both shipping and port authority face significant challenges in clearing the port, but adopting this skeletal type can help drayage companies enhance their handling capabilities.

To tow the “No-GAP” ACCORD-Stinger skeletal, tractors need a minor upgrade to the d-TRAiN 5th wheel compound hitch. It necessitates a longer slider for the 5th wheel and an extended tractor after-frame.

Some applications may benefit from the use of the ACCORD-Stinger arrangement as a way to get the third TEU, with or without steering.
